This weekend marked one of the most extraordinary moments of my artistic journey. I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to announce that I have won the 2024 Women Who Create Award! This prestigious award by Women Who UK Business Network celebrates creatives across all fields who exemplify outstanding talent, originality, and visionary approaches to their work. To be recognised as an artist who inspires others to unleash their creativity and embrace experimentation is a privilege I will cherish forever.

The award is not just a recognition of excellence but a celebration of the transformative power of creativity. For over three decades, I have dedicated myself to the craft of painting, finding joy and inspiration in the small, beautiful moments around us. Whether it’s capturing the seasonal blooms of Worcestershire’s countryside or immortalizing the personality of a beloved pet in a portrait, my mission has always been to bring beauty, joy, and a touch of wonder into the lives of those who encounter my work.
A Bit About My Art
I am a classically trained artist based in Worcester, with over 30 years of painting experience. My work spans local landscapes, colourful still lifes featuring seasonal flowers, and pet portrait commissions. Inspired by post-impressionists and colourists, I paint in an impressionist style, using vibrant colours and expressive brushwork to convey the beauty and emotion in everyday life.
One of my greatest joys is participating in Worcestershire Open Studios every August, where I have the privilege of sharing my creative journey with art lovers and fellow creators.
Upcoming Events: Barbourne Artists’ Christmas Fair
The timing of this award feels particularly special as I am in the final stages of preparing for the Barbourne Artists’ Christmas Fair, at St George’s Church, St George’s Square in Worcester, which begins this Friday at 3 PM. This festive event offers the perfect opportunity to connect with art enthusiasts and share some of my latest works, both large and small.
Here’s a glimpse of what I’ll be showcasing:
• Original Paintings: A selection of both larger and smaller pieces, perfect for gifting or personal collections.
• Limited Edition Prints: Framed and mounted prints based on my original designs.
• Art Gift Mugs & Coasters: A brand-new collection of high-gloss coasters and art mugs, offering a functional yet beautiful way to bring art into your everyday life. They make amazing gifts too!
• A brand new 2025 Worcestershire Landscapes calendar at a special price.
Greeting Cards: Perfect for sharing a little artistry with loved ones this holiday season.
The Barbourne Artists’ Christmas Fair is a fantastic opportunity to find unique, meaningful gifts while supporting local artists. I can’t wait to meet everyone who stops by and share the joy that creativity brings.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Winning the Women Who Create 2024 Award is a moment I will treasure forever. It’s a testament to the incredible support and encouragement I’ve received from my community, family, friends, and fellow artists over the years. This award is not just for me but for everyone who believes in the power of creativity to inspire, uplift, and transform.
As I look forward to this weekend’s fair and beyond, I’m reminded of why I began this journey: to find beauty in the small things, celebrate the world around us, and share that joy with others. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
Barbourne Artists’ Christmas Fair returns to St George’s Square, Worcester this Friday 29th November 3pm - 7pm and Saturday 30th November 10am - 4pm. Come and join us!
