In this quintessentially Victorian room, my favourite place in our home, nothing is new; every object tells a story. The scene centres around a mahogany family piano, over 140 years old and played daily, which stands as a silent testament to a lifetime of music. Its worn keys and aged wood are echoed by a 160-year-old mirror, sourced from a nearby estate sale, which reflects the room's deep past.

In this piece I have attempted to portray the soft, early spring light as it hesitantly enters the room, illuminating these beloved antiques. Whilst painting, I particularly enjoyed the silent stillness of this room, which, only a couple of hours later, would fill with the hustle and bustle of family mornings.

12x12in (30x30cm) artwork size

Professionally framed in a classically profiled 3in frame

16inx16in (40x40cm) including frame

Oil on canvas board

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0731/2539/6782/files/0C14619C-4751-4E2D-A12D-659466200EEE.jpg?v=1756399795
copy-roses-in-a-champagne-glass-original-painting
Blush Roses in a Jar original painting

25x20cm

Acrylic on canvas

Framed in a 2in classically profiled off white wood frame

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0731/2539/6782/files/7A7537F7-D115-4206-8560-AEE4D7F63E2F.jpg?v=1771969291
blush-peonies-an-afternoon-reverie-original-painting-copy
Pink Peony Étude Original Painting

14x18in

Acrylic on stretched canvas

framed in an ivory wooden 2in frame

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0731/2539/6782/files/C88682DB-D597-464A-A9DA-133E15FBBFCD.jpg?v=1781113575
