I am so thrilled to share some deeply personal and exciting news with you all. One of my original paintings has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Broadway Arts Festival 2025 competition! And here it is…

This particular piece holds a very special place in my heart. As many of you know, my work as a Worcester artist is a blend of capturing the world around me and the emotion within. This original artwork is a perfect example of that. It is painted in oil  and a part of an ongoing series of interior scenes, each one an intimate glimpse into the spaces I inhabit and love.

The setting for this painting is my favourite room in my home: the music and dining room. It's a space rooted in history and personal memories, and painting it is always an incredibly emotional journey. The room is home to a beautiful 140-year-old mahogany piano that we still use every day, dark wood mahogany furniture typical of the Victorian era, and a huge antique mirror I found at a local estate sale.

I painted this piece over several consecutive early mornings in spring this year, when the sun was tentatively waking up and casting a gentle, ethereal light. The quiet, contemplative mood of the painting reflects those tranquil hours perfectly. In it, you can see the grand piano, an oval table, and the old fireplace, with the antique mirror above reflecting all my other paintings in their rich gold frames. It’s not just a painting of a room; it’s a canvas that holds the history and soul of my home.

To have this particular original painting recognised at such a high level is a huge honour, and I am incredibly proud to have my work displayed alongside the eclectic array of pieces by other finalists. This exhibition is a chance for me to share a piece of my world with you all and invite you to step into the quiet beauty of my creative space.
