A Journey Through Colour and Tradition
As a classically trained artist, I have always found inspiration in the timeless techniques of oil and acrylic painting, blending traditional artistry with my passion for the beauty of everyday life. Currently, I am delighted to be exhibiting alongside two fellow artists Felicity Osborne and Kirstie Trobe in ‘Three Worcester Artists’, a curated exhibition at Number Eight Gallery in Pershore, Worcestershire.
My work, deeply influenced by the Post-Impressionist and Colourist movements, celebrates the landscapes of my beloved Worcestershire and Gower, as well as the vibrant, seasonal flowers grown in my own garden. Each painting is a reflection of my commitment to both style and substance, offering a modern twist on classical art traditions that I know will resonate with those who appreciate the rich history of art.
I invite you to explore some main pieces in my collection, where every brushstroke captures the essence of the natural world, crafted with care for those who cherish elegance, detail, and the story behind the canvas.
Malvern Hills in May

In this large framed painting, I am inviting you to delve into the magnificent green landscape of Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. I simply cannot get enough of the beautiful Malverns, having moved to Worcestershire almost 20 years ago. History tells us how Edward Elgar felt inspired by them; I feel at times I can hear his music faintly through the whistling wind…
May is such a wonderful time here at the Malvern Hills where the lush greens cascade down the beautiful landscape. I feel that every time I visit these hills the clouds in the sky are just spectacular; they never fail to amaze me. This painting, started in May 2023 and finished in early July is profound testimony of how wondrous the world around us is - it is available for all of us to see, but only if we pause for long enough to notice it’s beauty.
Afternoon in Caswell Bay

Caswell Bay, a true gem, is undoubtedly one of my all-time favourite places on earth. This picturesque beach offers the perfect balance of space and intimacy, making it ideal for families and those seeking solitude alike. Its compactness allows for easy navigation, while the numerous little coves provide ample opportunity to tuck away in a private spot.
The captivating contrast between the rugged rocks, the tranquil sea, and the vast sky creates a breathtaking scene that never ceases to amaze me. The harmonious blend of nature's elements seems to work in perfect unison, each playing a part in creating an unforgettable experience.
Malvern Hills Rhapsody
https://worcesterartist.co.uk/products/malvern-rhapsody
Created in 2020, this painting holds a special place in my heart as it represents my inaugural artistic endeavour to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. By employing a loose painting style, I sought to convey the dynamic movement and ever-changing nature of the landscape, as well as the vibrant intensity of the sunlight that bathes the hills in a golden glow.
In my painting, I aimed to capture not only the visual appeal of the Malvern Hills but also the emotions they inspire. The sweeping brushstrokes and vibrant colours serve to evoke the exhilaration and freedom one experiences while traversing the hills, while the interplay of light and shadow brings to life the enchanting atmosphere that permeates the landscape.
Afternoon in the Garden

Sunflowers have long been synonymous with the spirit of summer, their radiant petals an emblem of the season's warmth and vitality. As I began to immortalise these whimsical blossoms, I sought to imbue the painting with the emotions and sensations that defined that unforgettable afternoon. From the laughter that filled the air to the clink of our glasses and the rustle of the leaves, every brushstroke encapsulated a fragment of the day's magic.
This painting is more than just a visual depiction of sunflowers; it is a celebration of the ephemeral beauty of summer and the joy it brings. It is a reminder of the serenity we can find in the simple moments spent with loved ones, surrounded by nature's splendor. As the seasons change and the sunflowers eventually fade, the canvas will continue to evoke the warmth and happiness of that enchanting September afternoon, forever preserving the essence of a summer to remember.
September Hike on Malvern Hills
Introducing my newest painting of the Malvern Hills; this time an autumn reincarnation of my beloved hills with a September colour palette. Painted this month (September 2024) and employing looser brush strokes, it depicts my favourite ridge during a Sunday afternoon family stroll this month. It is so new it has not made it to the website yet!
