Painted as a fond memento of a delightful visit with my children to the Maize Maze at Churchfields Farm in Worcestershire, this artwork vividly captures the essence of a scorching July day in 2022. The sky was adorned with the most perfect shade of azure blue, casting a vibrant backdrop for our memorable adventure.

Upon leaving the farm, I couldn't resist purchasing a few sunflower stems from their charming farm shop. The sunflowers, with their radiant petals and robust stalks, were the epitome of natural beauty, and I knew they would make for a captivating subject in my artwork.

Once we returned home, I eagerly set up the still life arrangement, placing the sunflowers in a vase and carefully positioning them to catch the light just right. These particular sunflowers, with their irresistible charm, have made appearances in several of my other paintings – there's just something about the farm sunflowers that sets them apart from the rest.

As I painted, I sought to capture not only the visual splendor of the sunflowers but also the essence of that perfect summer day spent with my children. The warmth of the sun, the laughter echoing through the maze, and the joy of discovering a new corner of the world together – all of these elements are lovingly woven into the brushstrokes of this artwork.

In the end, this sunflower bouquet painting serves as a beautiful reminder of a cherished family experience and the simple pleasures that life has to offer. It is a celebration of nature's wonders, the magic of exploration, and the enduring bond between family members as they create lasting memories together. Through this piece, the sunflowers from Churchfields Farm continue to bring warmth and joy into our home, a testament to their unparalleled beauty and the unforgettable day we shared.
